Report: Songs We Slept On: Hits Of 2010’s (Our Favorite 50 Top 10’s On Billboard’s Hot100)

This decade is just beginning and already several hit-makers are making it quite memorable with their contributions.  Songs We Slept On honors underrated work, however, this would not be the case in a post highlighting Billboard Hot 100 top ten hits.  We’ve listed our favorite 50 songs of the last three years that we think are the best so far!  In staying true to the concept of this post, we’ve also singled-out one action-packed song that was a hit (but deserved to be an even bigger one).  Take a look at our Hit’s of 2010’s list and the chosen undervalued single selection.

FlashBack Friday: MC Lyte – Cold Rock A Party

This weeks flashback friday jam goes to MC Lyte with her hit single “Cold Rock A Party (Bad Boy Remix)” featuring Missy Elliott off her fifth studio album Bad As I Wanna B.   The lead single was produced by Sean ‘Puff Daddy’ Combs and written by Missy Elliott and sampled Diana Ross’ 1980 hit “Upside Down”.

The song became MC Lyte’s second highest charting single in the U.S. after her previous single “Keep On, Keepin’ On“, peaking at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also became a hit in several other countries, including New Zealand where it reached No. 1. “Cold Rock a Party” was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of 500,000 copies on February 19, 1997. To date, it is MC Lyte’s last single to reach the Billboard Hot 100 or receive a gold certification.  Take a look at the music video below:

Brandy Performs In ATL With ‘Put It Down’ & ‘Wildest Dreams’ (Video)

Brandy performed her hit singles “Put It Down” and “Wildest Dreams”  last night as part of the FSO (For Sisters Only) annual event in Atlanta.  The R&B diva hit the stage and shut it down.  Her 6th studio album ‘Two Eleven’ hits stores on October 16th, make sure you get it!  Take a look below:

OnTV: Justin Bieber Performs On America’s Got Talent Finale

Justin Bieber performed his hit single “As Long As You Love Me” with Big Sean on the season finale of America’s Got Talent last night.  The high energy choreographed routine was smoking hot but we can’t the same for his live vocals, but other than that it was a decent performance.  Take a look below:
